I am a freelance photographer and am ALWAYS looking at new ways of trying to get more business. Sometimes it feels like I spend just as much time on finding the business as actually doing the business.

I believe that starting a new business during a recession is a very positive experience as it makes you think of many more ways of marketing yourself that you would otherwise overlook if the work was flooding in.

A very fortunate person...I made the decision to study photography and embark on a career path that gives me genuine joy! Previously to this I had taken nightclasses in photography as it was a hobby I was passionate about. There was always something missing for me in my previous careers and it took me many years to work out that I could make my hobby my living and that the missing thing was being able to be creative. It helps of course that I have a very supportive man in my life!

Am not sure what I can expect from joining this network, but I do hope that if any of the other business women require a photographer for events, portraits, weddings, marketing etc, that they might think of me! Photography is a competitive market and still a very male dominated world so any female solidarity would be greatly apreciated!
