Hello everyone I am a speaker! I never knew this until one day when the speaker did not turn up I was asked if I would tell them about my life in the theatre and tv as a production set designer. In the group was a lady who organized speakers for the country for the NSPCC. Since then I have been all over the country telling them about the exciting life that I have had and all the actors that I have met over the years. I talk about the theatre and the art world.I gathered together all my photographs and drawings and models of the tv productions that i have designed. One thing that is excellent about it is that by talking about it it keeps my mind alive and brings back all these exciting events back into my life as if it was yesterday. Now my art is confined to my studio galleries and the web lynda-kettle.com but if you put my name in google people write about my presentations- it is very good for 'the feel good factor"

Good morning Pat,

Altough my first name is Atiti and spelt thus, I also use the pen name 'Ah-tt'. I am a UK based speaker and I have had invitations to speak abroad too. One of the services I offer includes delivering Public Speaking skills training and development workshops to individuals and groups in organisations. I was an early developmental member of an organisation called SpeakersBank and worked with it through its infancy developing / consolidating its core programme and delivering workshops initially to the Voluntary Community sector, and eventually to the Education sector.

I have been a keynote speaker, a panel speaker, and an small group inspirational speaker. My topics span across my personal life experience to professional expetise.

I am very happy to network and share any information or possible opportunities I have access to with others in this group.

Good morning Pat!

Firstly, thanks for your e-mail with the "snippets" - they raised a smile.

My speaking experience is slightly esotoric and has been in a voluntary rather than paid capacity. However, I have - in the past - done radio and TV, spoken to groups and chaired international meetings with people from 20 or so countries. That's great fun when each country has a different idea of procedures! One of those meetings was held on the side of the alp in Switzerland, one step back and I would have tumbled down into William Tell's lake. Actually, it was a bit peculiar and brought home to me the extent to which, in a more usual setting, your voice bounces off the walls of a room.

Another slightly unusual experience was when I was invited to be one of the keynote speakers at a conference in the Philippines where I shared a platform with two guys from the State Department in Washington and three members of the programme/association through which I received the invitation to speak - the Twainese Finance Minister, an Australian Shadow Minister and my friend, Anne Marie, from Sweden. The subject I had to speak on was - wait for it! - "Rural/urban differences as factors in the determination for more food" or something of the sort.

Perhaps more relevant to this Group, I have this morning received an e-mail from an outfit called Team 247 Coaching. They are basically a marketing company and have a Find A Speaker section. This morning's e-mail was to tell me that for the past 2 years that section has been closed to new speakers wanting to register. However, they have now opened it and are offering a free listing. I have responded to ask for further details and will keep you posted.

Regards
Dorothy Wilson

Hi everyone, welcome to the speakers club. I would be interested to know what you have done. Have you ever been abroad to speak? If so, how did you get the opportunity? Any ideas how we can get more members to this club?

I am not a speaker, but would like to be!
I will keep watching and learning for now though!

I love to speak and to inspire others to live the life they love to live.

I have spoken on topics such as Atttitude, Success, Relationships and life. Titles include The Secrets of Dating and The Secrets of Relationships, Magnificent Me, Women on Top, Something to Shout About and Keeping It Together.

I would love to network with other speakers, and to event organisers with regards to gaining more appointments in the UK.
