Business Blogging - something any business can and should be doing!

As a Visual Marketer, I aim to advise businesses in how to make them more commercially attractive, not only how they look but how they attract customers as well. And once they've got these customers across their threshold, I provide advice in how to convert them into money and other profitable uses.

One of my passions is blogging, and I have recently set up a series of blogging pages on my new website Design Your Marketing. (I do have two other websites, the umbrella website Alice Designs and its accompanying blog, so please visit if you want to read more of what I have done.) I am promoting my series of packages called 'How to beautify you blog' to provide practical e-courses or a design service to get more businesses blogging! My blogging newsletter will also provide tips on how to maintain the success of your business blog as you progress, so join up to be the first in the know!

This for me will be the most challenging group. I have some spare time in the next few days so am going to practice some of your advised techniques. I think I'm now more realistic, I thought I could master the art of communication online, with the click of a button, and gave up when it didn't happen that way. One of my passions if life is cooking, and its taken a lifetime of practice to perfect the art of bread making and the best chocolate brownies in Worcestershire (testimonial from one of my guests at my B&B) so why the hell I think I can launch myself into ciber space, as a complete novice, I do not know. With your help and support, I'm going to be gentle with myself and begin the journey. Watch this space. My Twitter ID is MillersKitchen and blog jaxmiller.com

This is a review of my 'The Power of Pictures' blogging package:

“I loved your ‘How to put a picture up on your blog’ tutorial. A very clear, step-by-step guide that can take even the most basic novice and turn them into a mini-master. I have in the past managed to upload a couple of images to my blog but in the future it will be even easier. Making the image the correct size needed before uploading sounds like such a simple idea now that I have read it in your tutorial but I had never thought of it. Thank you very much for putting this fantastic guide together and taking us all through the stages of a successful blog the easy way.” Sue Wilson

Hi Kathy, let me have the URLs of your blogs if you have any, plus any concerns you have, and I'll give you some tips.

My business blogging packages are nearing their completion, so watch this space for more details. I've already had one review so far!

I've written lots of tips in my blog posts, which are fed into this page above. Don't forget to subscribe to my blog to get my information first hand. And please let me have some questions, all good fodder for future posts.

Hi Gaynor, welcome to the blogging group. I'm currently suffering from Bell's Palsy, but once I've got my face back I'll be in touch again with more blogging tips. Meanwhile, here's one: what is the focus of your blog? Could you write a quick elevator pitch to describe your blog? Having established a focus, is there any purpose to your blogging? It would be wise to consider this every time you write a post.

Hi, I'm very new to blogging. I've had a busy weekend setting up my Twitter page and linking it to everything I can! I'm beginning to see the huge business potential of blogging and I'm hoping to get some great tips from the group.

Easter week tip: What do you write about? If you publish a newsletter, republish your articles in your blog to reach a wider audience. Go look at the emails you've sent recently, could any of those be adapted into a post? What have you learned recently that is of benefit to you or your customers - could you share it as a story? Write about your successes - people like positive news. Think about your customers' everyday problems and provide a solution to them.

Easter weekend tip: When writing a post don't think you have to write an essay! Blogging should consist of only a few paragraphs. If you have a lot to say why not carve it up into a series of posts and line them up to go out on sequential days, to make your readers believe you've been busy? There is an application available to schedule your posts to go out at specific days and times - very useful.
